The Season of Lent 2019

Ash Wednesday – 6th March 2019

Good Friday – 19th April

Easter Sunday – 27th April

The season of Lent provides an opportunity for us to take stock of our lives, to repent our sins and to make amends for our failings through the traditional practices of fasting, prayer and almsgiving.  Our model for this time is the 40 days which Jesus spent in the desert, fasting, praying, avoiding temptation and preparing for his mission ahead.  How will you take time out to observe Lent this year?

St Columbkille’s parish will offer the following additional services during Lent:

  • Early morning Mass at 7am each Monday.
  • Mass in St Columbkille’s Primary School at 8.20am each Friday
  • Stations of the Cross at 7pm each Monday.
