- The present church building was opened in 1940 to replace the first St Columbkille's Church which was founded on the same site in 1851.

The work or refurbishing and conserving the frescoes in Our Lady’s Altar is now complete. To provide some glimpses of their restored beauty, and to whet your appetite for seeing the real thing when the church re-opens, a few pictures are provided in the gallery below. The first two show the contrast between BEFORE and AFTER restoration.
