• Welcome to St. Columbkille's Catholic Church Rutherglen

    • Welcome to our parish website which we hope you will find to be informative about our church and the life of our parish community.

    • HISTORY

    • The present church building was opened in 1940 to replace the first St Columbkille's Church which was founded on the same site in 1851.

    • Our Parish Vision

    • We aspire to be a welcoming and faithful Eucharistic community, serving the Lord, spreading the truth of his Gospel, and helping all to respond to God's Universal call to holiness, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Publishing Names in Parish Bulletin

You may be aware that new data regulations [GDPR] which have come into force which have an effect on various aspects of the parish, such as the publishing of names of the sick.  We now need written permission –with a signature—from the person who is sick, or if they are unable due to their health, then from their next of kin—to publish their name in the bulletin and also on the parish website. If this is not received, Mass will still be offered but no entry will be made in the bulletin.

Parents who are having children baptised and couples being married in the parish will also be asked for permission for names to appear in the bulletin.
