    • The present church building was opened in 1940 to replace the first St Columbkille's Church which was founded on the same site in 1851.

    • Our Parish Vision

    • We aspire to be a welcoming and faithful Eucharistic community, serving the Lord, spreading the truth of his Gospel, and helping all to respond to God's Universal call to holiness, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Preparing for the New Lectionary

The LECTIONARY, which is the book that contains the Scripture readings for Mass and the Sacraments, is changing in all Catholic parishes in Scotland, England and Wales, with effect from the start of Advent (Sunday 1st December 2024). To help to prepare the parish for this import change, we are offering a number of resources:
+ Hugh Gilbert OSB, Bishop of Aberdeen and President of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, who was closely involved in the preparation of the new text, has published a short explanatory article which can be read here – https://bit.ly/LOTNSummer562024.
+ We are planning a PARISH TALK on the new Lectionary by Fr Paul Denney in the Parish Hall on Tuesday 12th November at 7pm. It is open to ALL parishioners, but it is MANDATORY for all Readers to attend so that they can be well prepared for the changes to come.
+ A series of three 45 min. WEBINARS is being hosted by Fr Jamie McMorrin of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh (4, 11, 18 Dec at 7:00pm) to help you understand the key changes and why they are happening. You can register for these here: http://bit.ly/lectionaryadvent
