The Sunday of the Word of God in 2026 falls on Sunday, January 25th, coinciding with the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, with the theme: “The word of Christ dwells among you“(Colossians 3:16), an invitation to place the Bible at the heart of Christian life, study, and mission.
The Sunday of the Word of God is a pastoral initiative which highlights how important it is in the daily life of the Church and our communities to refer to the Word of God, a Word that is not confined to a book, but which remains ever alive and becomes a concrete and tangible sign.
