Sunday 28th January sees the start of Catholic Education Week when we celebrate the importance of educating children and young people in faith.  This year’s theme – Catholic Schools Serving the Common Good – marks the 100th anniversary of the 1918 Education (Scotland) Act.  The 10.30am Mass on Sunday 28th January will be a Mass of Enrolment for those children receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in 2018.

A special collection is taken up in all the Scottish Dioceses to fund the work of the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES). This provides the salaries for those employed and the services provided to support Catholic Education in our Primary and Secondary schools. This Special Collection will be taken up at all Masses of weekend 27/28th January.
